Factors That Influence The Cost Of Water Damage Restoration

  • Category of Water. There are three different categories of water, category 1, category 2, and category 3.
    • Category 1 water is also known as clean water and usually comes from overflowing sinks, bathtubs, or toilet tanks. Clean water is the least inexpensive to clean up and restore.
    • Category 2 water is also known as gray water and it is water that contains detergent like from a malfunctioning washing machine or dishwasher; gray water also includes toilet water that only contains urine.
    • Category 3, or black water, is full of harmful contaminants, bacteria, and other microorganisms. Black water is sourced from river flood, sewage backups, flash floods. Black water is the most expensive to clean up and may require specialized tools and treatments to fully remediate.
  • Volume Of Water. Depending on how much water is in your home or business and needs to be extracted will fluctuate the price.
  • Source Of The Water. If the damages are caused by a burst pipe you will have to repair the pipe system in addition to cleaning up and remediating the damages.
  • Time & Labor. If the damages are extreme, it will prolong the restoration time, which will increase the cost. Restoring a water-damaged home is a time consuming and extensive process. Thus, the technicians are highly trained professionals that provide excellent restoration services, which can increase the total cost.
  • Location. The size of the affected area will also impact the total cost of the restoration services. Large areas with large volumes of water will drive up the total cost.
